    Hi i am curious to know the price to build a small block for a chevelle that will make 500 horsepower minimum. this car a street strip kind of car something you can drive reliably and have plenty of power for a respectable chevelle.

    I have a 383 off-road plus and the recommended oil when I purchased it was Valvoline Vr1 racing oil 20-50wt, where I live it has been discontinued at every store what other oil would you recommend.

      Hi Sam,

      That engine has a Flat tappet cam in it so it is critical you use an oil with Zinc in it to keep the cam and lifters from failing.
      There are many different brands available that have Zinc, we prefer and use Comp Cams oil or Joe Gibbs Racing Oil.
      If you have trouble locating these there are other Zinc based oils, just verify that they are and try and use the similar viscosity.

    I just finished reading an archived article from Super Chevy 8/2000 where you participated in a LT1/ 383 build for a Camaro.

    I have a 1995 Corvette LT1- 6spd that I would like to massage into a 383 stroker and would like to know if you will still work on ’95 LT1 motors. I didn’t see it as an option on your engines listed.
